I started the PhD program at the National Institute of Genetics, Japan

I arrived in Japan on 28 September 2022. It takes 40 minutes by shinkansen from Tokyo to reach Mishima city.

My PhD program lasts 5 years (Master’s + PhD kind of thing). I will work under the supervision of Professor Masanori Arita.

It’s a bit strange to have a “PhD student” title right after my undergrad. I’ll need some time to get used to it.
